Soho Malaga, formerly an industrial and commercial area, has undergone an incredible transformation in recent years. Strolling through its streets is like walking through an open-air art gallery, where every corner has a story to tell.

The conversion of this traditional neighbourhood to Barrio de las Artes was an initiative of the people of Malaga themselves, who wanted to rehabilitate the area between Avenida de la Alameda Principal and Muelle Heredia.

One of Soho's biggest draws is its impressive collection of street art. Internationally renowned artists have left their mark on the walls of the neighbourhood, creating murals that capture the essence of contemporary art.

What you may not know is that many of these murals were created by internationally renowned artists such as Obey (Shepard Fairey), D*Face, and Boa Mistura. Each of these artists has left their mark on the walls of the neighbourhood, contributing to its unique identity (whose urban interventions are present in cities such as New York and Barcelona).

The urban market in Soho Malaga

The Soho Urban Market in Malaga is a very popular event held on the last weekend of every month on Tomás Heredia Street1. This flea market is known for its focus on crafts and urban art, offering a wide variety of unique and handmade products, such as beads, ceramics, wood, glass, fashion, decoration, photographs and paintings1.

Opening hours are usually from 11:00 to 19:00, and prices range from 1 to 60 euros1. In addition to the stalls, the flea market is also an excellent opportunity to meet local artists and creators in person.
